Day 1:
Arusha National Park After arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport, head straight to Arusha National Park, which is located just 40 km away from the airport. Spend the day exploring the park with a focus on birdwatching. Arusha National Park is home to over 400 bird species, including the beautiful Hartlaub’s Turaco, the endemic Tanzania Red-billed Hornbill, and the rare African Crowned Eagle. You can take a guided walk in the montane forest to see some of the park’s unique birdlife, or take a game drive to spot other species.

Day 2:
Tarangire National Park After breakfast, head to Tarangire National Park, which is known for its large herds of elephants and a diversity of bird species. The park has over 550 bird species, including the endemic Yellow-collared Lovebird, the Ashy Starling, and the Rufous-tailed Weaver. Take a game drive in the park and enjoy birdwatching opportunities along the Tarangire River. You can also go on a guided walk to explore the park’s unique flora and fauna.

Day 3:
Lake Manyara National Park On your final day, visit Lake Manyara National Park, which is famous for its tree-climbing lions and a variety of bird species. The park has over 400 bird species, including the Pink-backed Pelican, the Lesser Flamingo, and the African Spoonbill. Take a game drive in the park and enjoy birdwatching opportunities along the lake shore. You can also take a guided walk in the forested areas of the park to look for bird species such as the Narina Trogon, the Crowned Hornbill, and the Red-capped Robin Chat.
In the evenings, you can relax at your lodge or campsite and reflect on your day’s sightings. Remember to bring a bird guidebook, binoculars, and a camera with a good zoom lens to enhance your birdwatching experience.
